The Brussels mayor, the Socialist Freddy Thielemans, has, on 9th of August 2007 sent out a press release in which he has banned a demonstration with a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of 9/11 on the 11th sept in Brussels. The reason for the prohibition is that he says he cannot guarantee public safety and that he won’t disturb the Islamic section of the population in Brussels. By invoking the lack of public safety, he is precisely highlighting SIOE’s demonstration title:
Stop the Islamisation of Europe.
SIOE’s message through the 4 slogans is exactly to warn against conditions such as these, where people no longer can use their freedom of expression and feel secure, but the shocking facts are that these conditions already reign at the heart of the EU. SIOE’s demonstration will of course happen, as a peaceful utterance of opinion, an utterance of opinion for which Moslems have countless times received permission to demonstrate in Brussels.
Therefore it is, of course, completely absurd to ban a peaceful demonstration because they are afraid of violent muslim counter-demonstrators!
We kindly ask the major of Brussels to alter his decision and let the free people of Europe demonstrate for their civil rights. We want our right to have a minute of silence to commemorate the victims of 9/11 !

Thank you for your thoughts for the victims of the attacks on September 11, 2001. As a New Yorker I am touched that there are still people out there who care especially in Europe where they have largely turned their backs on America.
As for the Islamists in Brussels, if they can’t be civilized for a peaceful silent demonstration in a free country then they don’t deserve to be there. If they can’t stand for a demonstration against terror then this is entirely different matter. Do not let these thugs take over your country. Stand up for your rights to be Western and to be free.

B’cause islam = an imperialistic doctrine posing as religion (plagiarized). Moreover, islam is not going to be ended, in fact that is not what is demanded. We demand the ongoing islamization of Europe to be halted (by now, we sadly must sign petitions asking for the right to demand anything concerning islam in the EU).
This would obviously not mean the end of islam, there’ll be plenty of it left for socialists and other ‘progressives’ to enjoy outside the EU. Admittedly, in all those places worldwide other religions are either rapidly vanishing or on the defensive wherever islam gets a firm foothold. So should it be your aim to ‘end’ all other religions, then surely islam is your best friend

Of course there are violent parts in the Koran. You really think this is so special for a books written more than 1000 years ago? If you honestly think the Koran is the only religious book with violent parts, you should read the other ones. The Sharia is passed and the largest part of muslims in Europe and even over the world realises that.
There is no sign of ‘violent spread of the Islam’, except by a very few extremists. But is the Islam the only religion with extremists and potential terrorists? Is the IRA a muslims organisation? The ETA maybe? And what about Srebrnica? Was that a genocide of muslims or by muslims?

But when I see who organises this, who’s behind it and what kind of views you have, I know enough. On this website, there is not even a place for concrete solutions. The main point one can read here is that racists opinions are opinions like others, especially when it’s about Islam.
If there is a demonstration planned anyway on coming 9/11, it’ll only prove that indeed, SIOE only aims to provocate.

I think the Mayor of Brussels is absolutely right. The infidels will peacefully protest, with no repercussions or violence. Therefore they will be easy to suppress. The Islamic overlords, however, will use extreme violence, and the lives of the infidels will be in danger. Therefore, we should minimize the danger: muslims can protest (since to do otherwise may inflame them to murder). Infidels cannot, since restricting their right to protest will not lead to killings or even widespread protest.
I am pretty sure this is the right course of action. Kiss their muslim butts, and they won’t kill us. Seems fair to me!

It is remarkable that offering a moment of silence in remembrance of thousands of murdered victims would draw a response of violence. Equally remarkable is the fact that any person of moral substance would deny others their right to congregate and have that moment of silence. Is there no right and wrong here? Is it right to allow fanatics to dictate the behavior of others? Have we become so accustomed to the outrageous behavior of the zealots our own vision of right and wrong is becoming clouded? Yeah because you think that islam is incompatible with science. How do you explain the golden ages of islam (Astronomy, algebra…) while the west was in the dark? The Koran of that period is the same as today. What has been changed? The problem is the people and what they do with it. This is not because there is a minority not understanding that you should blame the majority.
The Koran should not be read as a normal romance, but should be read in his historical context. Muslim literate knowing the Koran need several years before understanding his content. This is like a student become a doctor after years of study.

One of the common aims of these divinely revealed religions is to ensure the happiness, security, peace, and tranquility of all people by opposing conflict.

The resulting dialogue will not be restricted to meetings and conferences, but will cement an alliance between people who advocate common values, fight for the same cause, and seek permanent solutions to common problems.
Muslims, Christians, and Jews have common principles of faith, worship, and moral values and face common dangers. Thus, the People of the Book (Christians and Jews) are called on to unite with Muslims as fellow believers opposed to atheism, anti-religiosity, and social as well as moral degeneration. We Muslims love and respect Prophets Moses (pbuh) and Jesus (pbuh), know that they are loved and dear people in God’s presence, and believe in all His Prophets. Furthermore, we respect Jewish and Christian beliefs, values, and traditions, for God commands us to invite the People of the Book to “unite on a common premise”:
Say: “O People of the Book! Come to a proposition that is the same for us and you-that we should worship none but God, not associate any partners with Him, and not take one another as lords besides God.” If they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” (Qur’an, 3:64)
Muslims are people who believe in the Qur’an revealed to Prophet Muhammad (may God bless him and grant him peace) as well as in the earlier divinely revealed books: the Pages of Abraham (pbuh), the Torah revealed to Moses (pbuh), the Book of Psalms revealed to David (pbuh), and the Bible revealed to Jesus (pbuh). However, over time these books were tampered with and therefore contain both accurate (e.g., belief in God, virtue, the Day of Judgment, and the rejection of idolatry), and inaccurate information. Some of the verses read:
He has sent down the Book to you with truth, confirming what was there before it. And He sent down the Torah and the Gospel. (Qur’an, 3:3-4)
We sent down the Torah containing guidance and light, and the Prophets who had submitted themselves gave judgment by it for the Jews?as did their scholars and their rabbis?by what they had been allowed to preserve of God’s Book, to which they were witnesses. (Qur’an, 5:44)
God states that the People of the Book are believers as thus:
They are not all the same. There is a community among the People of the Book who are upright. They recite God’s Signs throughout the night, and they prostrate. They believe in God and the Last Day, enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and compete in doing good. They are among the righteous. You will not be denied the reward for any good thing you do. God knows those who guard against evil. (Qur’an, 3:113-15)
Among the People of the Book are some who believe in God and in what has been sent down to you and what was sent down to them, and who are humble before God. They do not sell God’s Signs for a paltry price. Such people will have their reward with their Lord. And God is swift at reckoning. (Qur’an, 3:199)
Therefore, a Muslim’s attitude toward the People of the Book reflects the probable existence of genuinely faithful people among them. Only God knows the hearts of people, and He reveals that some Jews and Christians have earned His good pleasure.
God reveals that He has created a way and a method for all nations. Throughout history, He has sent Prophets to people to inform them of His laws, commands, and prohibitions. Essentially, all Prophets have invited their nations to believe in and worship God and to abide by the limits He has established for humanity. In other words, all true religions in their original state are based on the principles of not associating others with Him and of working to win His good pleasure, compassion, and Paradise. All nations are expected to follow God’s will without fail and to do good deeds in order to earn His reward:
We have appointed a law and a practice for every one of you. Had God willed, He would have made you a single community, but He wanted to test you regarding what has come to you. So, compete with each other in doing good. Every one of you will return to God, and He will inform you regarding the things about which you differed. (Qur’an, 5:48)

Authorities in European cities regularly turn a blind eye to Islamic outrages, and suppress protests by the native population. We had the same in London, when vanloads of Metropolitan Police swooped on a group of women reading out the names of British soldiers killed in Iraq – all of whom have died in a war where no British interests were involved, but actively helped an illegal demonstration by Islamic militants to march through London, even while it was praising bombers, and calling for more British deaths.
It’s often difficult to decide whether such actions are pure cowardice, or reflect a hatred of their own people by the politicians in charge. In the case of socialists, it usually means the latter.

IF EU Governments and others stop supporting dictators in the ME I think a more likely scenario would be a more fanatical Islam. Look at the evidence for this conclusion…Iraq, USA was told that if they got rid of Saddam Hussein they would be welcomed with open arms! what happened was to the contrary. Not only that when the people were given the chance to vote for a democracy, they voted for more Islam.

When the Pallies were given the opportunity to vote in a free election they voted for Hamas which compared to Fatah was the worse of the two choices.

Whatever argument is put forward the facts speak for themselves. Europe at the turn of the century had a muslim population numbered in the hundreds of thousands at the very most. Today even the most conservative/liberal think tanks state that at the minimum there are currently 28 million muslims in europe and growing rapidly, at least 7 to one in the birth rate race. Do the maths, as they grow the muslim masses grow more vocal and as they begin to disposses the native peoples so the cries for islamic states will increase to a thunder and our own democratic system will bring us down because they will have the largest voting block and will vote in sharia and an islamic state wherever their numbers are high enough. Ha indeed this is proof that people are interested in Islam, I myself bought the Koran and read it. But interest born out of the events. “Sun Zi know your enemy”. Many have for the same reason wanted to know what it’s about.
As religion in the West is stagnent and in Britain non exsisting it is not a dificult thing for Islam to be the fastest growing, but that in its self doesn’t make it true or good, Malaria is the fastest growing disease but that don’t make it a good thing to have.
When you have a religion of intolerance that under the threat of death does not permit its followers to leave, where psychotic religious leaders preach hatred of the infidel, where the followers believe that to tell lies to the infidel is ok and not a sin if it advances the interests of Allah, where all who are not Muslim are just the kindling on Allah’s bonfire then appealing to quantity as a mark of truth is somewhat hollow!

If Islamic countries allowed freedom of choice and gave support to all other religions within their countries without favour, then you can point to growth as a measure.
Try and walk around any Islamic city with a Bible and talk to people about Jesus, stand in their streets and praise Christianity. I would say your life would be measured in minutes.

To be fair, the Arabs/Muslims did introduce the decimal number system and the concept of zero to Europe. But both these inventions were the product of Hindu mathematicians. The Arabs were the messengers rather then the originators of the message.
The one mathematician that the Arabs claim as their own is Al-Khwarizmi. But even in the field of Algebra, the Greeks and Hindus, several centuries prior to Al-Khwarizmi, were more advanced then he. For instance Al-Khwarizmi solved quadratics but these were developed by the Hindu mathematicians who gave general solutions rather then particular ones. Given the trade routes of the time, it is conceivable that Al-Khwarizmi got most of what he wrote from India. It is also conjectured that Al-Khwarizmi travelled to India to study Maths.
Given the primitive times, it is unlikely we will ever know the exact truth, but I find the Arab /muslim mentality of stealing other people’s ideas and claiming it as their own, very distasteful, though it seems to go with the general nature of Arab tribal society, where brigandage is considered a honourable profession. It is unfortunate that such a trait persists even to the modern era.
Europe was in the dark ages only when compared to the chaos to the settled Roman empire. But in that period so called dark ages, Modern scholarship has shown, that there was enormous invention, that eventually led to the flowering of Western civilisation. Those who claim the Dark ages as being intellectualy backward, are misinformed. Muslims OTH have always been in the dark ages – in fact since Islam took hold of their minds and made it submissive.
What is so disheartening is that by constant repetition of a lie, even Westerners have been duped into thinking of Arabs/muslims being responsible for great discoveries. The Arab Muslims were conquerors and destroyers of civilisations.
Having conquered though, it was not long before the conquered civilisation, though it flickered for a while, died from atrophy, neglect and the inability to think freely in an Islamic society.

You made two mistakes in your statement.

Political and religious expansion takes money to achieve, so one of the practical things people can do is stop spending money in there shops, so think about it next time you phone for a taxi, or go to a takeaway food shop, think that people who spend money with them are in effect funding there expansion. If the EU wasn’t such a gold mine for them, they would leave.

I do not understand how non-muslim women can downgrade themselves by marrying a muslim. I personally know several cases and they ended up in beatings, fights, blood and tears and unending custody fights for the children.
The main problem is that Belgians from Moroccan descent have automatically dual citizenship. They just need to register their child at the Moroccan embassy with an arabic sounding firstname (Mohammed, Karim, Ousama, Fatima or what have you) and that’s it.

I dont want to sound nieve,but all this is new to me, how do we fight this problem,it seems like Islam has endless funding and the people in power who are supposed to represent us, the majority, have abandoned us. Nice verse…..But it is true that what is needed is constructive commitment between this site and others, we are up agaist immense funding, never under estimate an enemy,they are well organised, the truth is we are small in number as most of our population won’t waken from their sleep….. Eric, stop and think for a moment about our nations of Northern Europe, I from an English perspective and start at the time of the Romans and their colonization of Britain. The Celts were to a large extent sidelined by the invaders and Britain and the British changed to some degree, then the Saxons, Angles, Danes and most of the other tribes of Northern Europe invaded colonized and influenced our islands. The change in Britain though was change with a mutual and common experiance so if you go to any Nothern European country we share a common heriatge and by and large common values. Our differences are minor, this is not the case with Islam. No matter what self interest groups and the brainwashed liberals peddle about Muslims just living and fitting in as one nation with the rest of us, this simply is not true or possible. Islam inspite of the lies they preach about unity and peace have one agenda and that is the Islamification of the world by either bomb, bullet or social pressure. It does’nt take much research to see what is the fate of non Muslims around the world.

I don’t speak for SIOE, however we are at this moment really in the Sh*t and to change what has been happening in the short term will be difficult.
But we must start, and the first thing is to stop immigration from Islamic countries, to stop the expansion of Islamic schools and religious centres. We can learn from Islam and the way it treats all non Muslims in Islamic countries, we can stop the free teaching of Islam in schools and remove any priviliges we have given them.
It will be difficult now but if we don’t start now it will be impossible tomorrow.

Your demonstration uses 9/11 as a mask for your anti-Islamic purpose. I resent being used to put a nice face on your antagonistic agenda. And I agree that the 100,000 Iraqi dead should be commemorated. Would that have to be an anti-Christian group to do that, or is there anyone out there that really cares about any of the dead more than themselves?

Would any churches be left standing? Would they still be welcome?
If you were truly concerned with Iraqi dead then go and be a charity worker in Baghdad or any of the other cities in Iraq.

This is an appeal to my fellow countrymen, The English.
What in the name of all that is holy has happened to us?
We as a nation have become apathetic, politically lazy, indifferent to our country, and I could go on and on.
We are asked to do this little thing, this day of action to stand with others and be counted. To make a stand for our country England.
Hundreds of thousands of Englishmen laid down their live in two world wars, tens of thousands were left laying in the mud of Belgium never to see this beautiful country again.
Their loss laid the foundation for the have everything lives we live, they handed on to the next generation a gift.
