Quote:”True, the organizers paint with a broad brush and often care little for nuances. “We have a difficulty with the concept of ‘moderate’ Islam because the Muslim world is moving toward what the media call ‘radical’ Islam,” Stephen Gash, one of the British organizers, told me over the phone. No doubt their message can be provocative or even extreme, especially when it includes calls for a halt to Muslim immigration. ”
Daniel Schwammenthal asked me what I thought about immigration and I replied that I believed in controlled migration because uncontrolled migration is bad for the countries from whence migrants leave as well as those countries where they settle. I am backed up in this by, for example, the Phillipine Government who have asked European countries not to poach its nurses because the Phillipines does not have enough nurses. I don’t recall saying anything about Muslim immigration because I never actually said anything about Muslim immigration.
