Let us make it completely clear
Posted by Sitemaster on September 13, 2007

One minutes silence in respect for the 9/11 victims
Let us make it completely clear. There was only one SIOE demonstration: The demonstration planned for a long time that was advertised as starting from Luxembourg Place in Brussels.
Although Mayor Thielemans disallowed SIOE’s demonstration, it certainly lived up to all the rules SIOE had promised the Brussels police.
Vlaams Belang had repeatedly tried to persuade SIOE to hold only a static demonstration on Schumann Square outside the commission, suggesting that some agreement had been reached with the Brussels police about this.
Nevertheless, SIOE stood firm on its demand for marching from Luxembourg Square to Schumann Square.
We believe, therefore, that Vlaams Belang attempted to hijack SIOE’s demonstration because they knew that they could publicise their own domestic political agenda, on the back of the world news generated by our protest.
SIOE had given political parties the chance to show they are really serious in wanting Stop Islamisation Of Europe, by putting their other political aspirations to one side.
However, Vlaams Belang clearly was unable to do this.
SIOE’s demonstration was completely peaceful.
When Anders Gravers and Stephen Gash arrived to Luxembourg Place they were greeted by high-ranking police officers who announced that “the demonstration was forbidden” but that we would be tolerated if we stayed on Luxembourg Square and abided by our own aims and rules, which of course we did.
As the safety of its supporters and public order has always been paramount in SIOE’s organisation of the demonstration, SIOE complied with police instructions at all times without question, and had a peaceful demonstration in Luxembourg Place.
SIOE can only praise the police for their efforts.
The police only made a couple of administrative arrests of single persons that apparently had not understood SIOE’s rule of only displaying SIOE’s slogans on banners.
With this gathering we have proved to the world, Belgium and Mayor Thielemans, that SIOE can conduct demonstrations where peaceful ordinary people may respectfully deliver their messages to our politicians.
We did exactly that when a petition of 10,000 signatures complaining about Mayor Thielemans’s decision to ban the 9/11 demo was passed on to Gerard Batten MEP who will raise the matter of Mayor Thielemans’s prohibition in the parliament, in order to secure the right of peaceful people to gather and express their freedom of speech according to the EU-constitution.
Mr Batten ensured the petition was handed to Mayor Thielemans’s office.
SIOE does not wish to be associated with Vlaams Belang who held its own separate demonstration on Schumann Square.
Firstly, because we believe they obviously did not respect police instructions and secondly, we consider they vandalised SIOE’s efforts by holding their own demonstration, thereby distracting the both media and, more seriously, demonstrators who genuinely only wish to Stop Islamisation Of Europe.
Why couldn’t Vlaams Belang have made a demonstration some other day?
Why did they have to use the same time and SIOE’s slogans? The reason can surely only be that they deliberately tried to use SIOE to get in the media’s spotlight.
Whatever the reasons SIOE considers Vlaams Belang’s action to have been irresponsible and reprehensible.
This is why SIOE strongly disassociates itself from the Vlaams Belang demonstration that displayed Flemish flags, contrary to SIOE’s aims and rules that allowed people regardless of race, religion and political convictions to unite and say “no” to the insidious Islamisation of our societies, without the baggage of political parties. That is to say a wide front with a single goal, to Stop Islamisation Of Europe.
Therefore, it is disappointing that both the Brussels Journal and Gates of Vienna have stubbornly claimed that Schumann Square was the meeting place despite SIOE not having mentioned this place as an assembly point.
It’s also disappointing to see Gates of Vienna and Centre for Vigilant Freedom write about the two different demonstrations as if they were a single one.
SIOE is now establishing new branches in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia, France and Italy.
Now is the time to create a non-party-political organization with only one goal, to stop the Islamisation of our countries.
By popular demand we will be establishing a subscription membership scheme.
SIOE has decided, for the present time, not to co-operate with political parties in the future but only with individuals and organizations that share our wish for stopping the Islamisation of Europe, unless we have a written agreement drawn up by SIOE and signed by the leaders of the parties.
In other words a legally binding contract on SIOE’s terms.
However our main goal is still to attract ordinary people who wish to Stop Islamisation Of Europe.

By the way, on more personal note: I see you have handed the petition to Mr. Batten, MEP for UKIP. If the UKIP is the party standing between us and islamization of Europe then I can convert to Islam just now. I hope I’m mistaken now but I have some feeling that Mr. Batten was founding an “Islamic platform” in the UKIP. And if it wasn’t him it was probably another UKIP MEP.

While my darling girl is translating (
) i´d wish to give my impressions in short:
I heard about SIOE by accident via the blog of Bart Debie (flemish site) , so i clicked the link , read the “about SIOE” statement and immideately i uttered a sigh of relief … FINALLY !
At that moment i knew i was going to be there, no matter what.
I spread the word as much as i could , actually had a good bunch of people who were going to attend the demo…and then it started ..the ban , the accusations , the threats , … more and more people contacted me that they could not be there with me that day. They came down with the disease… You know the disease , first it grabs you by the throat, choking you, … then it liquifies your spine…
In the end only 3 people came to the demo from the city of Ghent (as far that i know of) all of us well-prepared (Nikolai had to flee his country after being chased by the KGB for a banned demo , he knows the drill )
But this is Europe -we thought- so we came to Brussels , looking very unsuspicious , going about our business , walking around , taking pictures, …
But very determined to be there with the few brave souls still willing to put life and limbs in the line of fire for what so many have died for.
It started at 11.50 : robocops , machinery , helicopter … the first people being dragged off. We saw them , they looked like skinheads , but in all honesty : they weren´t breaking any law ! (weren´t even demonstrating , they just “were” there)
With all the cameras set up the press had their first images of “fascists being dragged away”
A guy with a cross stood in the middle of luxemburg square and he was dragged off as well (he WAS saying that he was there against islam itself so no hard feelings but he didnt respect the demo code)
12.00… zero hour past and went , still no movement … by then it was claer that they would not let us march , in fact anyone who would attempt to do so would meet the bad end of a stick before he even knew what was happening.
In the same time we all felt that there was no way a counter demonstration would make any chance. Just like us they would make it to allahu akhb……before a police club would spoil their party. So at least our tax euros bought us safety.
Why were we there ? So the world could hear us offcourse! Did they hear us ? YES !!!!
Furthermore , if we had the demo we would all be grouping up afterwards on shuman square , having casual talks.
Now that we had our little vacuum , guarded by enormous police force (even bin laden wouldnt be able to reach luxemburg square)
we made it into what you could call “the second counterjihad summit”
Because of all the scaretactics and the bullying only the few determined showed…all we needed was a place to sit and talk , a beer or two and the warm brussels “end-of-summer-sun” to have a meeting among kindred spirits , free spirits to forge an alliance stronger than whatever they can throw at us.
A network of people from all over Europe , from all over the world even. Who looked each other in the eyes and pledged allegiance to unite in a free Europe !
They often say : what does not kill you can only make you stronger… that day we all knew what that meant.
A line in the sand has been drawn.
Sincerely ,
Pepijn Dever

We learned a lot from this exercise and will do better in future.
This was the first attempt made by ordinary citizens to protest against the destruction of their liberties by an alien and barbaric religion and the supine complacency of European governments.
How can I sign up to the British branch of SIOE?

I know it was an SIOE demonstration, but I can see no problem with Vlaams Belang members attending – if they comply to SIOE procedure.
Vlaams Belang have an anti-Islamization message (look at thei website), so I think should be a welcome part of the anti-Islamization community.
The best thing SIOE did was to declare itself non political. but if you do this you shuld no longer discriminate against Vlaams Belang members.
Vlaams Belang is political and right wing but that is no reason to brush them away. It would be the same for extreme socialist (e.g. Marxists) against Islamization – why should this affect their paticipation in SIOE?
I think SIOE shuld be for all people in Europe who are against Islamizaton.
The question of procedure, however, is clear. If you turn up at an SIOE march you should respect SIOE rules (or keep away). But for me, if Vlaams Belang people want to join in they should be welcome. I hope you agree with this.

This would appear to the way of the future. I applaud the new tactic of registered paticipation. This will also enable SIOE to assess the real number of involved parties and control future events.

This is admirable. I fully support the initiative. Where do I register?

Maybe the writer did not wish to put it that way but then I would like a correction. In the other case I would like an explanation.
Did the writer really mean to say that the display of Flemish flags is contrary to SIOE’s aims and rules that allowed people regardless of race, religion and political convictions to … without the baggage of political parties.
The eye witness report says other things about other flags: “half to three quaters of the flags were Danish” and “most of the people had flag pins attached to their shirt, suit or jacket and almost all wore Danish pin flags”.
The Flemish flag is nothing more or less than the national symbol of the Flemish people, used by lots of non political and political organisations and by the Flemish parliament and government, just like the other flags.

UN racism expert brands defamation of religions threat to world peace

(live-PR.com) –
GENEVA (AP) – A U.N. expert on racism on Friday branded the defamation of religions _ in particular critical portrayals of Islam in the West _ a threat to world peace.
«Islamophobia today is the most serious form of religious defamation,» Doudou Diene told the U.N. Human Rights Council, which is currently holding a three-week session in Geneva.
Diene cited a caricature of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad in a Swedish newspaper, a protest by far-right groups in Belgium Tuesday against the «Islamization of Europe,» and campaigns against the construction of mosques in Germany and Switzerland as evidence of an «ever increasing trend» toward anti-Islamic actions in Europe.
«We see the initiatives and activities of many groups and organizations which are working hard to bring about a war of civilizations,» he said, adding that right-wing groups were trying to equate Islam with violence and terrorism.
Diene, a Senegalese lawyer who was appointed as an independent U.N. expert on racism in 2002, was presenting a report on defamation of religions to the 47-member council. The report also includes sections on anti-Semitism and other forms of religious or racial persecution around the world.
African and Islamic countries welcomed the report and called for moves to draft an international treaty that would compel states to act against any form of defamation of religion.
«The international media continues to use the misguided actions of a small, extremist minority as an excuse to malign the entire Muslim world, as well as the religion of Islam,» Pakistan’s representative Masood Khan said, speaking on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Conference.
The pressure to protect religions from defamation has been growing ever since a Danish magazine published caricatures of Muhammad, provoking riots across the Islamic world last year in which dozens of people were killed. The publication of a different caricature in a Swedish newspaper last month again led to protests from Muslims.
Islamic tradition forbids pictures of Muhammad, and Muslims claimed the caricatures were intended to insult their faith.
Diene said such caricatures were evidence that «the basic principle of coexistence of different cultures and different religions, which is the lasting basis for peace, is threatened now,» adding that «freedom of expression cannot be used as a pretext or excuse for incitement to racial or religious hatred.
European Union members of the council and other countries cautioned against equating criticism of religion with racism.
«The EU finds it problematic to reconcile the notion of defamation with the concept of discrimination,» said Goncalo Silvestre of Portugal, who was speaking for the 27-nation bloc. «In our view these two are of a different nature.
Religions in themselves do not deserve special protection under international human rights law, he said.
My dear friends,
Those nations which have the worst record in human rights. Those who have used and continue to unapologetically use their religion to take away the liberties that we as free people enjoy, are bent on enslaving us, who live in the free world.
We must let our governments know that we who value our freedoms are not in the minority, and are not willing to hand over these freedoms to those who have systematically taken them away in their countries, and now seek to systematically do the same to us in the guise of a U.N. treaty.
In our countries we still have a right to challenge and question the work of those who in the name of their religion brought much suffering and slaughter.
For what civilisation would have resulted in this great Europe of ours had we not had a few good men whose great and active resolve countered the religions of hitler, or stalin, or the inquisitors of old?
Should our forefathers have remained silent in regards to these fellows…fellows who wished to impose their will upon free people in the name of their religions, than a tragic wasteland would this beloved Europe of ours be.
We must not relent, we must not fear their resolve…for their peace as evidenced in their very countries is the greatest threat that humanity has ever faced.
But, if the resolve of our nations fails because our leaders do not value true liberty; then we who believe in Jesus must remain faithful. …A servant is not greater than his master..If they persecuted me, they will persecute you…I have said all this to you to keep you from falling away…John 15.20 – 16.1
We are also commanded to pray for our enemies and to trust that God has made a way for those who believe in His Son Jesus. So I urge Christians to believe and faithfully pray without fear, and without any shame from those that would deride the work of Christ…We know that He, our Rock will remain faithful forever and ever.

It may be a good idea to begin to act in parallel with the Swiss Peoples Party as follows:
The Swiss People’s Party, which wants to pull Switzerland out of the UN Convention against Racism, and abolish the country’s own Federal Commission on Racism, is dismissive of UN opinion.
“The UN should not be meddling in internal Swiss politics,” said Matthias Mueller. “We have got freedom of speech in our country. Obviously [Mr Diene] has not understood our culture of democracy. I would suggest he reads up on it.”

IT is your V E R Y B I G mistake by not clearing this V E R Y important detail, that SIOE is not the same ,or related to the political party Vlaams Belang, From reading for months all the articles about the planned 9/11 Demonstration you could not come to this conclusion.
Please ,Please repeat and clear this detail over and over again. Even people in other countries (US, Israel) thought that the SIOE is just another extreme right wing movement,or a Branch of the Vlaams Belang (as the Neo Nazis) who are just adding one more ethnic (Islam)group to disagree and fight against.

Doudou Diene is but a racist and a fascist. In the mist of his lies he wrongs himself by telling the truth: “…were trying to equate Islam with violence and terrorism.” He fully recognize that Islam is violent and terrorist.
“The report also includes sections on anti-Semitism and other forms of religious or racial persecution around the world.” This fascist liar has nothing to say about islanic violence in Darfour? About copts oppression in Egipt? About religious apartheid in Saudi Arabia? About persecution of Cristianism in Europe?

I was at Luxembourg Place and I was arrested, even though I had no banner at all. All I had was the Czech national flag, and it was welcome to have national flags.
When I asked policemen for the arrest reason, they told me that I was at a banned demonstration and therefore I was arrested. And for curious, I did no riots nor anything like that. I was there for peaceful demonstrating.

8 – Steiner: Thank you for your fine contribution on freedom of expression.
At the time of knighting Salman Rushdie by HM The Queen I ran into following comment from a Mr. Niloufar, Tehran, Iran on the website of Al Jazeera:
– ” Blasphemy is simply an expression of opinion and should be totally allowed. Those who want to hurt others on feeble grounds like blasphemy should be put on trial for incitement to violence and denying others their basic human right of free expression. It is way past time to get over such silly concepts as blasphemy in this world of heterogenous and fascinating ideas.
Blasphemy and heresy laws and their proponents only serve the purposes of those obsessed with controlling the minds, lives and loyalty of others. Rushdie’s other works are fantastic pieces of literature, though Satanic Verses was way below his own standards it must be added. Shame he has become a victim of repressive geopolitics” –
This is a refreshing statement coming from an intelligent and open minded person living in theocratic Iran. Also a fine lesson for Dhimmicrat Terry Davis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe.

Dear Anders Gravers,
I strongly disagree with your voiced opinion that the police measures were appropriate. The opposite is right. There was no shouting, there were – besides the Sandwichmen – noch posters or banners. There was no demonstration, but still people got arrested.
The last time I had experienced that was in Rumania around 1970 and in the “German Democratic Republic” a couple of years later.
Not only I would appreciate an explanation.
Best regards

Martin Saturka:
That’s Belgistan: Three years ago, in Antwerp there was a spontaneous demonstration “organized” by Abu Jahjah of the Arab European League. He used the cellular phone chain call technique: call 5 jihadist who call another 5 jihadist, who then in turn call another 5 etc. In no time they assembled several hundred Moroccan hoodlums who smashed windows, vandalized and torched cars etc.. Few or no jihadists were arrested: it would have been qualified “unacceptable islamophobic racism”.
Let’s be happy that some websites like this one still exist to express our views. New European legislation is under way to further curtail freedom of speech. We will not be allowed to associate the word “terrorist” with “islam” any more. We will be fined just for writing: islamic terrorism. And the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) is lobbying to have islamophobia included as an offense punishable by law. This would give islam the special priviliged status it seeks. And freedom simply ends when there is no freedom of expression any more.
You see: there is still a lot of restrictive work that is in the make to curtail “our freedoms” so that islam can “freely” deploy itself.
Voilà ! Allah Akbar !
Steiner said
Perhaps, protests should be far more frequent than once a year.
Once every three months, or one in every country (not only in Europe) every 3 months or 6 months(organised by those in that country)..See where the biggest turnout is and establish an organisation that will address the issues at the U.N. We should not wait much longer.
The slippery politicians and their friends will attempt to weaken our resolve asap. Strike again while the iron is hot.
