Fear of islamophobia

In the the Belgian newspaper “Het Laatste Nieuws”, a rather strange article emerged: “Non-governemental Organisations are concerned about Islamophobia”. In the South of Spain, in Jean, some thirty NGO’s sounded the alarmbell about the growing Islamophobia. Jasser Auda warned about oversimplification, negative conceptualisation and stereotyping of muslims.
As a consequence, an international conference about “intolerance and discrimination against muslims” will take place.
SIOE does not agree: Islamophobia is not a mere oversimplification, but the logical consequence of a number of facts. We give you an overview:
Oversimplification?
Islamphobia has been literally translated here into ‘fear of muslims’, which is not correct. Islamophobia is the fear of Islam in general, with its political agenda. Islam has an extensive code of law, the Sharia, with -from our point of view- some rather worrisome matters. Sharia preaches superiority of men over women, prescribes extremely severe punishment (torture) for crimes as for failing to live up to muslimtraditions and makes all free speech impossible. Besides, Islamic jurisprudence is still under supervision of a non-democratically elected theologist or imam. That’s why Islamophobia is not an irrational oversimplification, but a healthy reflex against the forces that threaten our democratic countries.
Negative conceptualization and stereotypes?
When on Arab television there are imams,Islam´s religious leaders, openly praising the suicide bombers for their courage then they are controlling the view that the West has about Islam and are feeding the negative image.
When on September the 11th after the WTC attacks muslims take to the streets to celebrate, when a cartoonist is threatened with death because of a cartoon, when a producer is murdered in the street because of his criticism,…
Islam indeed has an image problem, but it´s not only the the media who are to blame for it…
A conference “against intolerance and discrimination towards muslims” ?
Nowadays even western culture itself seems to offend muslims (pigmeat, miniskirts, alcohol,…) and serving halal food in schools seems the only way of keeping the peace.
We are wondering what discrimination and intolerance the NGO´s are talking about.
SIOE has the opinion that spiritual and religious beliefs are deeply personal issues that have no place in the political debate.
SIOE does not want sharia here, stands for democracy, not theocracy and wants to put a halt to the Islamisation of Europe.
Racism is the lowest form of human stupidity, but Islamophobia is the height of common sense!

Islamaphobia is the wrong word – isn’t a phobia an irrational fear? What’s irrational about fearing Islam and Muslims? The inherent chaos of Muslim societies is not something to look forward to, surely.

I agree it should be Islamanausea, as every time I hear anything about Muslims I want to be sick!
A vile putrid and nauseating belief that is making the whole world sick. We need an antidote and SIOE will help.

Its all America’s fault. At least thats what the main stream media wants everyone to believe. We are the only ones trying fight these animals. If the wrong people get elected in America next year we will stop fighting. Europe will rapidly become Muslim. Im an American, I know that the world hates us. We can be a very ugly bunch. I wish ya’ll would except my apology on behalf of an entire nation. I cry a little bit everytime I read about these terror tactics being used by Muslims. What are we as civilized people to do?

I do not agree with Jimski. The world loves America, especially we Indians. We understand the value of civilization more than any other race.
My country is the biggest victim of of this disease called islam but our thinkers have still not learnt the lesson. Their obsession with what they call ’secularity’ is nauseating. Our society is also infested with willingly blind leftists (like your Noam Chomsky) who let go no opportunity to appease islam-maniacs.
The future of humanity is in hands of USA now. We all depend on US now for our protection. I believe in America. Power can be used for good of humanity, America has !

From my experience, where is islam, there are explosion, killing, violation against the peaceful civilian people. In about 140 years ago, Islam people kill more than 10000000 people in northwest China. These islam people are citizens of China. So I think that European should be vigilant on this EVIL ISLAM!

the united states have earned a lot of credit worldwide of fighting sources of fashism that otherwise would have infiltrated again to the U.S. and caused terror attacks like 9/11 if they only had the chance.

I live amongst Cristians, Jews, Buddists and Muslims and I believe there’s terrorists from every religion. I’ts all connected to the way we are educated.
I was educated, Like many liberals, to obey the law but to always question the law and to protest and upgrade.
As a jew I’m not orthodox, but I know orthodox jews that inflict punishments within their community that resemble the orthodox punishmnents of the Sharia or Inquisition.
here in Israel, if we let the orthodox rule we would soon likely to kill ourselves or nuke our neighbours. we might as well just destroy the world because I’m not sure we’re worthy of it.
soon it will become nuclear and my words will be meaningless.
