Al-Qaida calls for holy war against China said
In a video message, a senior Al-Qaida leader has urged Muslims to launch a holy war against Chinese “invaders” in response to the “massacre” of Uighurs in western China.
“The atheist criminals have long used the most despicable, cruel and brutal means against Muslims in Turkistan,” said Abu Yayha al-Libi, who is sometimes identified as the commander in Afghanistan of the international terrorist network Al-Qaida.
“Thousands of Muslims were killed, and no one knows about them,” he said in the 20-minute video, referring to Uighurs living in China.
Muslims with historical and linguistic ties to the Turkic peoples of Central Asia, Uighurs live in the western Chinese province of Xinjiang, which Islamists call East Turkistan.
According to the Washington-based terrorism monitoring group IntelCenter, the tape was made around late July or early August and released Tuesday by al-Sahab Media, Al-Qaida’s media arm.
Nearly 200 people were killed and thousands injured or arrested in clashes between Uighurs and Han Chinese in Xinjiang in July.
In August, the Turkistan Islamic Party, a Uighur separatist group that claimed responsibility for a 2008 bombing in Shanghai, used similar language to call for attacks in response to the “massacre” of Uighurs in Xinjiang.
“There is no path to salvation or toward lifting oppression and injustice save by returning to religion,” al-Libi said. Muslims “must sincerely prepare for jihad (holy war) and take up arms against the ruthless invaders”.
“Consecutive Chinese governments have worked hard to sever every link between the wounded people of Turkistan and the Muslim nation,” he said. “They are working to destroy them so that their numbers will decrease and their Islamic identity will be dissolved”.
Al-Libi called for “a media campaign to tell the Muslim nation the truth about what is going on there and to expose Chinese colonialism”.

Beijing has invested heavily in Xinjiang over the past 60 years. Urumqi used to be little more than a huddle of tents in a desert. It now has the general appearance of a city in midwestern USA; Denver, perhaps. The Chinese are not going to let go of their investment.

Even though there is both popular hostility against Christianity and legal restrictions on Christian religious institutions in Turkey, you are wrong about there being any legal punishment for being a Christian or converting into this religion. What does happen though, is that evangelists and priests get murdered, not that this is any better. But just so that you know the facts. For the time being, those of us who stray in any way from the popular Islamist assumption in this country that every valid member of Turkish society must be a Muslim still have some basic constitutional protection against threats from this kind of public sentiment, that we are in the hope of retaining, that is if not amending to give way to a more secularist society. But, as the infamous poem that this call for demonstration has quoted from the mouth of a man who is now our current prime minister reveals, there is also a very large conservative population who buys into that kind of rhetoric which combines Islamism with elements of an equally domineering, supremacist and exclusive nationalist rhetoric. Sad.

Muslims make up 25 percent of world population said
The global Muslim population stands at 1.57 billion, meaning that nearly 1 in 4 people in the world practice Islam, according to a report Wednesday billed as the most comprehensive of its kind.
The Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life report provides a precise number for a population whose size has long has been subject to guesswork, with estimates ranging anywhere from 1 billion to 1.8 billion.
The project, three years in the making, also presents a portrait of the Muslim world that might surprise some. For instance, Germany has more Muslims than Lebanon, China has more Muslims than Syria, Russia has more Muslims than Jordan and Libya combined, and Ethiopia has nearly as many Muslims as Afghanistan.
“This whole idea that Muslims are Arabs and Arabs are Muslims is really just obliterated by this report,” said Amaney Jamal, an assistant professor of politics at Princeton University who reviewed an advance copy.
Pew officials call the report the most thorough on the size and distribution of adherents of the world’s second largest religion behind Christianity, which has an estimated 2.1 billion to 2.2 billion followers.
The arduous task of determining the Muslim populations in 232 countries and territories involved analyzing census reports, demographic studies and general population surveys, the report says. In cases where the data was a few years old, researchers projected 2009 numbers.
The report also sought to pinpoint the world’s Sunni-Shiite breakdown, but difficulties arose because so few countries track sectarian affiliation, said Brian Grim, the project’s senior researcher.
As a result, the Shiite numbers are not as precise; the report estimates that Shiites represent between 10 and 13 percent of the Muslim population, in line with or slightly lower than other studies. As much as 80 percent of the world’s Shiite population lives in four countries: Iran, Pakistan, India and Iraq.
The report provides further evidence that while the heart of Islam might beat in the Middle East, its greatest numbers lie in Asia: More than 60 percent of the world’s Muslims live in Asia.
About 20 percent live in the Middle East and North Africa, 15 percent live in Sub-Saharan Africa, 2.4 percent are in Europe and 0.3 percent are in the Americas. While the Middle East and North Africa have fewer Muslims overall than Asia, the region easily claims the most Muslim-majority countries.
While those population trends are well established, the large numbers of Muslims who live as minorities in countries aren’t as scrutinized. The report identified about 317 million Muslims – or one-fifth of the world’s Muslim population – living in countries where Islam is not the majority religion.
About three-quarters of Muslims living as minorities are concentrated in five countries: India (161 million), Ethiopia (28 million), China (22 million), Russia (16 million) and Tanzania (13 million).
In several of these countries – from India to Nigeria and China to France – divisions featuring a volatile mix of religion, class and politics have contributed to tension and bloodshed among groups.
The immense size of majority-Hindu India is underscored by the fact that it boasts the third-largest Muslim population of any nation – yet Muslims account for just 13 percent of India’s population.
“Most people think of the Muslim world being Muslims living mostly in Muslim-majority countries,” Grim said. “But with India … that sort of turns that on its head a bit.”

Muslim organization urges Ottawa to ban burkas, niqabs in public said
TORONTO – Middle Eastern garments designed to cover a woman’s face are “medieval” and “misogynist” symbols of extremism with no basis in Islam, a Canadian Muslim lobby group said Wednesday as it urged Ottawa to ban the burka and the niqab.
The Muslim Canadian Congress called on the federal government to prohibit the two garments in order to prevent women from covering their faces in public – a practice the group said has no place in a society that supports gender equality.
“To cover your face is to conceal your identity,” congress spokeswoman Farzana Hassan said in a telephone interview, describing the issue as a matter of public safety, since concealing one’s identity is a common practice for criminals.
The tradition of Muslim women covering their faces in public is a tradition rooted more in Middle Eastern culture than in the Islamic faith, Hassan added.
There is nothing in any of the primary Islamic religious texts, including the Qur’an, that requires women to cover their faces, she said – not even in the controversial, ultra-conservative tenets of Sharia law.
Considering the fact that women are in fact forbidden from wearing burkas in the grand mosque in Mecca, Islam’s holiest site, it hardly makes sense that the practice should be permitted in Canada, she said.
“If a government claims to uphold equality between men and women, there is no reason for them to support a practice that marginalizes women.”
The proposed ban would include the burka, an iconic head-to-toe gown with a mesh-like panel over the face that allows the wearer to see and to breathe, as well as the niqab – a veil that leaves only the eyes exposed.
Hassan said the ban would not extend to the hijab, a traditional headscarf that does not cover the face.
The proposed ban comes on the heels of reports that Sheikh Mohamed Tantawi, dean of Egypt’s al-Azhar university and the country’s highest Muslim authority, is poised to issue a fatwa, or religious edict, against the garments.
Media reports Monday said Tantawi described the face coverings as “a custom that has nothing to do with the Islamic faith.”
Mohamed Elmasry, former president of the Canadian Islamic Congress, said he agrees the tradition has its roots in cultural customs rather than religious teachings, but that the issue is irrelevant in Canada where the practice is not widespread.
Elmasry disputed suggestions that the garments pose a security threat, saying only a minority of Muslim women living in Canada feel the need to conceal their features in public.
He said he believes those women should have the freedom to decide whether they wish to cover their faces, and that a ban would limit freedom of expression.
“People feel it’s part of their identity, people feel it’s part of their culture,” Elmasry said. “It’s not for you and me to decide.”

Stephen, I can’t thank-you enough for deciding to protest at harrow again. I am a harrow resident and will be there to show my support on the day. I was there at the last protest but I chose not to reveal my support for the SIOE or else I would have had my head caved in.
My main concern is about how we can collectively and individually go about promoting the second protest and attaining as many people as we can for the day?
I mean, aside from this blog, how else is the sioe hoping to attain the 2000 or so proposed supporters? Please let me know how else the protest is being promoted and what I can do personally in order to try and increase the numbers that attend.
We really need to work hard at getting the support together this time and I will do everything in my power to help. Please email if you would like to send me some suggestions on how to help or if you need help with something specifically. I have a great deal of experience with Internet marketing as I work in Website devlopment and would be more than happy to discuss methods in which we can promote the protest.

I wouldn’t get to excited; after the magnificent flop that was the protest of 11th Sep, this protest is only going to dissapoint you further. At least you will realise how little support your cause actually has and save yourself some time and effort in the future.
The people of this country have an amazing history of tolerance and respect, which cannot be undone by provocative and hate-filled “protests” by a fringe minority who are using hate against a specific community, yesterday it was the Jews or the Irish, today it’s the Muslims and tomorrow it will be another group, in order to try and persecute and intimidate them.
The fact is that the indeginous people of this country will not support such behaviour by an extreme few who are using Muslims as scapegoats because they have other issues in their life that they cannot deal with. Hitler was scathing towards Gays, although there is strong evidence that he was quite homosexually inclined himself. These same kind of mental issues are that which inhibit those that want to use Muslims in order to vent their own personal frustrations in life.
There is still time, you should strongly consider calling off this pointless attempt at a “protest”.

Adrian, There is no reason to compare the position of the Jews in Britain in the early 20th century with the position of Muslims today. If you take the trouble to read the Quran you will see that it contains more hatred toward the Jews than Mein Kampf. The only reason why that may not be readily apparant is because the Quran commands the slaughter of all those who do not acknowledge Muhammad’s claim to be a ‘prophet’.
Islam is essentially a political movement operating under the camouflage of religion. Like Communism and Fascism, it seeks world domination and the death/political subordination of all ‘non-believers’. I was anti-zionist and pro-palestinian. But what always caught in my throat, was how the gay palestinians had to leave Gaza and go to Israel to live, because they would be murdered by their own “civilized and peaceful” muslim families. They’re not. Read Bruce Bawer’s “While Europe Slept” to see what is going on in our neighbouring countries. Read Walter Laqueur’s “The End of Europe” (he’s a world-renowned expert on fascism).
Last year my turkish friend went to do his compulsary military service in Turkey. He had to swear an oath where he promised he would kill the infidels! Can you imagine the international outcry if BNP or the British Army made people swear an oath to kill muslims. Imagine what would be said about Geert Wilders if the Netherlands army made people say that.
Turkey is a supposedly-secular country, full of supposedly-moderate muslims. And it keeps asking to join the EU. Yet they are swearing in public that they are going to kill us.

enough is enough its time to stand up and be counted.this is england i personally do not want my children being brought up in an islamic state of the united kingdom how could i look them in the eye,we have to make the effort to stem the tide of islam which is sweeping threw the western world hell bent on taking control to re-create its caliphate.it cannot and will not happen.

So how are we realistically going to attain enough people in order to sufficiently protest without being bullied into a corner like last time?
I will be attending with my friend and five other people that I have managed to get to come along. What is everyone else doing? Are there any official plans of promotion being deployed by the sioe? If so, where are they?
I think a group of us should get together and work on some promotional strategies in order to get as many people to come along to the protest in support of the sioe as possible. We should make use of the internet with the likes of youtube as well as post leaflets in our areas and put up posters etc.
If this blog is the only form of marketing/promotion/advertising the sioe have done for the 13th dec protest then we clearly need to do more.
I am more than willing to do anything I can in order to ensure we get as many people as possible to come along. There is NO WAY i’m going to let 2000 angry muslims and deluded uaf idiots take over the streets of my town like they did on the 11th of september.
If the sioe admin could email me with some ways in which i could help out with protest promotion then I would be grateful.

On CNN ( i was staing in Athens hotel), i saw a report of Muslims extremists wiht a depiciton of Buckingham Palace as a Mosque! this is no joke. It was sickening. They said when they “take over” the Queen can either leave or convert to Islam.
Now, the BBC and UK stations censor this kinf report. Yet if an Israeli settler has a little affray with a Palestinian, it is big news. The extremists are now preaching sedition and high treason, and the British Authorities are doing nothing about it.
